The Unauthorized Saved by the Bell Story, dir. Jason Lapeyre (September 1, 2014)
The Details: Lifetime is taking us back to one of our favorite television series with this new made-for-television movie. Aiming to look behind the scenes and reveal how the cast really interacted, the film explores the young actors' incredible rise from obscurity to stardom. The movie stars Dylan Everett as Mark-Paul Gosselaar/Zack Morris, Sam Kindseth as Dustin Diamond/Screech, Julian Works as Mario Lopez/A.C. Slater, Alyssa Lynch as Tiffani-Amber Thiessen/Kelly Kapowski, Tiera Skovbye as Elizabeth Berkley/Jessie Spano and Taylor Russell McKenzie as Lark Voorhies/Lisa Turtle.
The Trailer: This first clip from the movie shows the young cast at a photo shoot to promote the series. With "Poison" playing in the background, the teens are all smiles for some group shots, but things start to get catty when they break into character/couple shots, starting with Zack and Kelly. Lark and Tiffani-Amber are clearly at war over Mark-Pauls affections, resulting in some pushing and shoving during a girls' group shot. Elizabeth has to literally get in the middle to break it up. Mario and Dustin engage in a push-up contest, while Mark-Paul rolls his eyes, eventually coming to the inevitable loser's rescue. Dustin and Mario then exchange words. The entire cast is bickering when brought together for a final group photo, pulling it together with a smile at the last minute.
The Buzz: While the film is getting a considerable amount of flack so far, it's sure to draw a considerable number of viewers who loved the '90s series. This clip only makes you want more. They just look so little!
